Sustainably Grown Wood
Our most popular wood shutters are made from the finest grade of Northern Basswood, sustainably grown and harvested in wood forests located in the Northern Midwest USA, Southern Canada, and Asia. Our Basswood is then kiln dried to a 6-8% moisture content for the West Coast. Basswood is a popular wood material because of its very tight grain and resistance to splitting and warping.
Accurate and Strong
The joinery in our wood shutters uses time-proven 3/8 x 2 ½ ” dowels on a one inch center for a very accurate and strong joint. The joinery is warranted for 30 years. The pivots are state-of-the-art pivots made of intelligent plastic design and will not get brittle or break for the life of the product. Louver tension screws are adjustable in-home.
Guaranteed for Life
All moving parts are guaranteed for life. Our finishing process involves sealing, coating, sanding, undercoating, sanding, undercoating again, sanding again, and then six coats of topcoat are applied from different directions to achieve optimal coverage. Our painted or stained wood shutters carry a ten year warranty. All coatings are waterborne with zero VOC (volatile organic compounds) for zero contribution to pollution and atmospheric effects.
